The product usually has a dark black like color and is rather insoluble in water.

Description: Chicken Fat is obtained from the tissues of chicken in commercial processes of rendering or extraction. It consists predominantly of glyceride esters of fatty acids and contains no additions of free fatty acids or other materials obtained from fats. It must contain and be guaranteed for, not less than 90% total fatty acids, not more than 2.5% unsaponifiable matter, and not more than 1% insoluble impurities. Maximum free fatty acids and moisture must also be guaranteed. Product shall originate from a USDA or APHIS registered and/or inspected slaughter facility. This product shall be stabilized with a natural antioxidant as specified in Section #3. No 3D or 4D, defined as dead, dying, disabled or diseased, material shall be used. The material has been processed under heating and other methods that would inactivate pathogens.
